I'd be curious to hear more about the niche marketing your company offers Nigel. In marketing, it's all about the niche. Some people forget the power of being a big fish in a small pond and try to go after too much at once which dilutes their business. Merry Post Christmas Nigel!!

There's a good reason you won't find my company on the same travel websites as other management companies and homeowners… I simply don't want or need price driven customers. We do a lot of niche marketing and believe that social media is important but we will not appear in places where hundreds and hundreds are listed one after the other.

It is funny that you mention this now, because Virtual Villas aims to help correct this problem. We just opened our site to the public today! TourVacationHomes.com or VirtualVacationVillas.com
We are a brand new startup company that allows home owners to display their homes on a fresh and modern website. All with Virtual Tours. We also cater to management companies that share our same modern perspective.
We decided to start this business after we discovered the same problems that you spoke about. Many websites look like they are from the stone age and cannot be found on search engines! We are the direct opposite. Our number 1 priority from day one was Modern, Sleek, Fresh. Even the way many other sites that are similar to ours, such as VRBO.com, lack decent searching capabilities! This is simply unacceptable in this modern time. Do a search on VRBO, you are greeted with a long list of counties. Then a list of different “home based” advertisement. Many home owners get lost in the shuffle when their home is simply 3 feet past the county line which the renter searched. Our site is completely different. Our search is “smart!” All of this computer wizardry took quite a long time to develop, but in the end it makes for a more enjoyable customer experience.
