Bimini Bay Townhouses in Davenport: Good Prices-NO Amenities!

unitSo many buyers are instantly drawn to the prices in the Bimini Bay townhouse community which is located in Davenport, FL.  They see the beautiful townhouses online and most wonder why they are so cheap! You know how the saying goes: If it seems too good to be true it probably is and this couldn’t hold more true for Bimini Bay in Davenport.

The Bimini Bay community was supposed to be a resort community that would stack up with the likes of resort neighborhoods like Regal Palms and Bahama Bay.  It was supposed to have a water park, day spa,gym facilities and many other cool toys but when the market turned many buyers started backing out of their contracts and just not buying all together, this brought construction to a very quick halt!

Bimini Bay Bank Townhouses For Sale

Here we are in 2009 and there still is not a clubhouse or pool, and only some of the townhouse buildings were completed. Many people are still hopeful that once the market gets stronger and more people start buying they will resume their original plans and finish the neighborhood.  This would be huge news for Davenport as I would love to see another townhouse community that can compare to Regal Palms to give buyers more options.

punitlargeBimini Bay still isn’t the worst deal on the block as the townhouses are super inexpensive and if your goal is to buy low and sell high than they are definitely low! The only problem you will run into is that you won’t be able to rent them short term because without the clubhouse and pool they are pretty much not an option for 99% of Orlando tourists who will stay in a vacation rental.  You can however rent them out long term and offset your expense that way.

My final opinion on the Bimini Bay townhouses is that they are nice places for a good price but not a good investment for vacation home buyers. . . definitely more for end users and investors who dont mind being landlords.

It would be unfortunate for an owner of one of those townhouses not to have all the promised amenities built in the area.

Bimini Bays builder/owner pulled the same dishonest trick at an earlier townhome property he built nearby called Island Club Resort on Sand Mine Road located just off US27. Lots of big promises to get people to buy but he didn't follow through on the amenities or the upkeep. That place ended up looking like a slum and there were legal issues all around. The same fate most likely awaits Bimini Bay.

They need some good investors (to finish the already built immense clubhouse!) to bring this developement to its potential. Get rid of the renters and get the vacation managing team in there and promote this resort including flights to and from Britain and European countries! This resort could be a goldmine with the right people!!!

The owner of Bimini Bay is a fraudulent snake and lier. I cant believe he has not been arrested for the Ponzi scheme he ran and the fraud he committed on so many innocent investors.

An honest, committed ownership would likely have been successful at Bimini Bay.

as of 8 o clock this morning I no longer work for david meadows when he called me a bleeping idiot. Now i wish to spill the beans. he is under investigation by the epa, psc, attorney general etc. he is pumping water from a retention pond that contatins raw waste product as a result from an overflowing lift stations that does not function properly. there are live 220 volt wires just everywhere and one touch will kill you or send you to the hospital. he sets up fake bidders at his so called auction and post pictures of a five star resort somewhere telling folks that this is under way. he constantly hires and fires office employees bullying them into “fixing his books and submitting ficticious reports or they will be fired. He has hired and fired over ten office staff in the three months of hell that I worked there. Then when it hits the fan he says,”oh well I didnt know about that going on it was so and so’s fault” always pasing the blame. he is very crafty however it is my moral duty to ensure that he must be made responsible for his actions and stop acting like a little child. I am going to be testifying on behalf of the public service comision to the atorney generals office allong with all of the data and photographs i have collected in anticipation of this day. If anyone knows of these missdeeds or is a victim of this man please contact me imediatly at plantman2009@hotmail.com

    There is a lawsuit pending.
It is an awful place and ‘disappointed’ doesn’t begin to cover it. There is a
class action lawsuit against him. I worked at Bimini Bay for a few weeks and
immediately started to apply for another job. This guy is NOT good people! If
you want to live in a roach and flea invested environment… then jump in. You
get what you pay for. This is NOT an investment property. It’s awful. There is
not enough that can be done to fix it because the person behind the ownership of
the development is doesn’t have the financing/ability to take care of things.
Your HOA dues are NOT being used appropriately!

i disagree.  this place is run by corrupt people.

yeah, this guy is not good people!  i was hired to ‘fix the books’.  i really went in (like the last 20 people in two years and thought.  yea, a project!  no, this guy needs to be put out of business.  he is a slimy bad person.  i quit in a few weeks.  how you put up with 10 mos, i’ll never understand.  he is awful!!!!!!!!!!  i started my new job on 11/28 and of course instead of my salary of 42k my last ck was minimum wage.  because he is just not right.  i hired great staff for maintenance but of course i felt awful in getting them a job with such a piece of… you know what.

if there was any way that i could help. i would JUMP at the chance.  I’m not sure what can be done… but he needs to be taken out of business.  period!
